Personal Gmail Reader

What the application does

Personal Gmail Reader helps its owner and invited account holders find and summarize emails for tasks they request, such as locating travel confirmations and receipts. Each account holder must separately authorize access through Google's OAuth consent screen.

When authorized with the Gmail read-only permission, the application can search and read messages and attachments. It cannot send, delete, archive, label, or mark messages as read through that permission. The permission covers the authorized mailbox, not just a particular sender or folder; searches are narrowed to the requested task.

Local operation and AI assistance

The Gmail reader runs on the owner's Windows computer. This public website contains application information only: it does not offer a mailbox login, accept messages, or host the local reader or its credentials.

When AI assistance is requested, relevant email content may be provided to GitHub Copilot and its configured model providers to complete that task. Email content is therefore not guaranteed to remain exclusively on the computer.
